Eileen Scanlon Crafts, of Cary, North Carolina (formerly of New Smyrna Beach, FL and Smithtown NY), passed away peacefully with her family at her side on March 13, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Clifford. Loving mother of Kathy (Tim) Belair, Late John (Judy) Crafts, Peter (Lauren) Crafts, Kevin (Glenn) Crafts, Mark (Madelyn) Crafts, Tim (Denise) Crafts. Cherished grandmother of 10, and great grandmother of 5. Born in Buffalo, New York, Eileen graduated from Holy Angels Academy ('45) before entering the University of Michigan. While at Michigan, she was a member of the Kappa Delta sorority and president of it in her senior year. Graduating with a Phi Beta Kappa key in '49, Eileen went on to earn an MBA at the University of Michigan School of Business. One of the few women to earn this degree at that time, she was an inspiration to all her children and grandchildren - particularly her daughter and five granddaughters. In 1984, Eileen and her husband, Cliff, moved to New Smyrna Beach, Florida where she was very active in the ladies golf association at the Sugar Mill Country Club Community. She lived there for almost thirty years until relocating to Cary, North Carolina to be near her son, Peter, and his family.

The family will receive visitors at the Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 SE Maynard Rd, Cary NC from 2pm - 6pm on Thursday. Funeral mass Friday at St. Andrews Catholic Church, Apex at 11am. Private cremation to follow. Interment of ashes will be later this spring in Nazareth Pennsylvania.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to The Society for Lending Comforts to the Sick, 71 Blydenburgh Avenue, Smithtown, NY 11787.
